If you’re coming to Portugal for a holiday, you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands with Lands. With that goal in mind, we have been very cautious and thorough in our health and safety regime to ensure your safety whilst you’re visiting us.

We Have a Clean & Safe Certification

Companies are awarded the Clean & Safe certification from the national tourism board, Turismo de Portugal, for following all recommendations and health and safety policies from the National Health Authority and the National Tourism Authority. Companies with this certification are also “SAFE TRAVELS” Companies, which recognizes our commitment to providing safety for all. Lands received the Clean & Safe certification in 2020 and continues to hold that level of certification today.

Review Our Guest Policies During Covid

As we continue to try managing the Covid crisis on a global scale, here at Lands, we’re following every local health and safety recommendation from authorities in Portugal. We want to ensure our guests and staff stay safe and healthy while being able to enjoy getting out there and seeing this beautiful world we live in.

Here’s what we ask of you while you’re with us on a Ria Formosa Boat Tour or one of our Faro Experiences:

• Masks: We require you to wear a mask at all times unless it is counterproductive (for instance, while we are kayaking). We kindly ask our guests to bring their own. If you have forgotten your mask or if it’s damaged while on tour with us, we will provide one.
• Hand washing and cleaning: Hand sanitiser is available throughout the tour, accessible in designated areas of our premises. We will require you to clean your hands upon entry and encourage regular use of hand sanitiser during your visit.
• Social distance: We will require you to respect enforced social distance measures (1 to 2 meters apart).

While we ask the above of our guests, we also require the same of our staff. Anyone you interact with from Lands will be wearing a mask, using hand sanitiser regularly, and will respect social distancing recommendations.

Here’s How We Operate Our Faro Tours

Whichever of our experiences or tours you choose to join, we have implemented a number of procedures to ensure your safety and that of our staff. Our tours have always been small groups only and continue to be so. We now further limit the number of guests to maintain social distancing and to mitigate health risks.

We are also operating with increased cleaning procedures between all tours. All of our gear and boats are thoroughly disinfected after use to protect our next guests. We also have hand sanitiser readily available for use by all. Please feel free to use it as often as you deem necessary.

Our whole team has undergone increased training for health and safety over the past year. We have ensured every member of staff feels confident and comfortable with all required protocols.

Finally, we’re encouraging all guests to please book online for contactless ticketing and payments to increased safety measures.

We Offer Flexible Cancellation Policies

We know travel these days can be a confusing experience, so we want to reassure you that our cancellation policies take that into account. You can cancel a booking any time up to 24 hours in advance of your tour to receive a full refund. According to availability, we also offer flexible rescheduling at no extra cost. And, of course, if we need to close due to preventative measures, you will receive a full refund for a missed tour.

Why We’re Doing This

We’ve been following the policies and protocols as recommended by the National Health Authority and by the National Tourism Authority. But we also want you to know that the whole Lands team is on board with all of these procedures. Just like we focus on protecting our precious natural environment, we are focused on protecting our staff and guests throughout this challenging time.
